RETURNS & REFUND POLICY
Berry Jane gladly accepts returns and exchanges for defective, incorrect items, and items shipped that are our fault (i.e. we shipped the wrong item, size or style) or items that have manufacturer's defects or have been mislabeled. For all other items, please contact us before initiating a return or exchange. We are a small apparel company that practices slow fashion. 90% of our garments are cut and sewn to each customer's orders, which means your garments and order are considered custom-sewn items. We are happy to handle returns or exchanges within 14 days under some circumstances at our own discretion, however, we adhere to our company’s mission statement and policies in order to keep our carbon footprint low and reduce waste.
Any accepted returns must be unworn/unwashed, have the original tags still attached, and have the hygienic liner intact (if applicable) or swimwear must be in sealed hygienic packaging, unopened.
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the status of your refund.
Submit a return request
Sign into your account or click the profile icon of our store's navigation in the upper right-hand corner, or go to our returns page for more info, and/or request a return.
1. Log in to your account:
1. In the Email field, enter your email address, and then click Continue.
2. In your email account, open the email sent from our store and copy the six-digit verification code included in the email.
3. Go back to the online store, and then enter a six-digit verification code.
2. Click the order that you want to submit the return for.
3. If your order has more than one item, then select the items that you want to return.
4. Select a return reason and add a note for the store.
5. Click Request return.
Returns Policies, Terms
- If your return is approved, your return label will be processed. A refund will be processed once the item is received and inspected, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within 3-5 business days.
- Customized items and items marked FINAL SALE cannot be exchanged or returned.
- You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable.
- Swimwear that has been worn, the hygienic package opened or tried on cannot be returned.
Items that are marked as refused and/or return to sender without prior authorization will incur a 50% restocking fee.
Custom Made-to-Order Garments
When you place your order with Berry Jane, it’s not just a product that you are purchasing, but a sustainable, slow fashion “*bespoke” service as well. We handmake 90% of our products to order, so as soon as we start production of your items, we have already invested in the fabric, ink, cutting, sewing, and workforce specifically for your order. This means that if you wish to return or cancel after your order has been sent to production or shipped, we are not able to offer a full refund, however, alternative options can be discussed with you and a partial refund (40% restocking fee) or exchange may be possible.
Ready-to-wear is the term for ready-made garments, sold in finished condition in standardized sizes, as opposed to made-to-measure, custom or bespoke clothing.
Ready to Wear, In-Stock Garments
While most styles are made to order, Berry Jane does stock a few styles each season in inventory; these are considered RTW, short-run styles and limited-edition styles made in-house at our USA studio and/or imported. Specific swimwear, activewear and other Berry Jane RTW garments are ACCEPTED for returns, exchanges and refunds for items returned within 14 days that are in perfect, original condition, unworn with tags attached. If you are not sure if the garment you are purchasing is RTW or Custom Made, please feel free to email us! All RTW garments will be noted in their product description.
To be eligible for a full refund, your item(s) must be a non-custom style, in perfect, unworn condition, and in the same condition that you received it. It must be in the original packaging with tags and a hygienic liner. Due to the nature of our clothing items and for hygiene reasons, all swimwear and activewear items must be returned to us unworn/unused and in the same condition you received them with their original packaging. If an item is returned to us damaged, worn, dirty, stained or unsuitable for resale, we won't be able to give you a full refund. All items are inspected upon return.

- Custom or Personalized Items
- Swimsuits, Bikini Briefs (without the hygienic liner and/or removed from the original sealed hygienic packaging)
- Gift cards
- Sale, Clearance Items
- Used/Worn Items
- Custom-made, non-RTW Swim Trunks, Rash Guards, Leggings, Swimwear or Swim Shorts

Customs and import taxes
Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. Berry Jane will not be responsible for delays due to customs.
If you would like to exchange an item, we recommend you return the unwanted piece(s) and place a new order for the replacement piece(s). Items that are in perfect condition may be exchanged within 14 days of receipt. Once we receive your return, we will issue your refund for the returned item.
All refunds will be applied to the original payment method, minus the return shipping charge. Please allow up to 2 weeks for your return to be received and up to 10 business days for a refund to be processed.
Berry Jane lawfully reserves the right to deny refunds or store credit at its sole discretion if any item returned does not meet its return criteria (including but not limited to): used, re-sellable condition, free of stains, lint, pet hair, debris, odor of any kind, etc. If you wear the garment or swimsuit and rub up against a rough surface such as the side of a pool or cement etc, the suit will snag and rough up the surface of the fabric and possibly fray the seams; this is not returnable.

We do review each customer concern on a case-by-case basis; however, our policy does not permit any returns unless an item is defective (i.e., sewing, printing, or other fabric defects), or we have shipped you the wrong product altogether. Since we sell swimwear and activewear with strict guidelines for the health and hygiene of our customers, all swimwear sales are final.
Please check your size before ordering and check your order for accuracy before submitting payment. We've done our best to provide very detailed fit guides and size measurements for all of our products and our sizing is accurate to our products. We suggest using the guides and measuring yourself with a measuring tape. We cannot be responsible if garments do not fit if you haven't measured yourself against our fit guides.
Unfortunately, we can’t offer you a refund or exchange due to wrong sizing, unhappy with style choice, buyer’s remorse, refund abuse, ‘wardrobing’ or try-ons. Please keep in mind that tried-on, worn, or even compromised sealed hygienic packaging of swimwear or certain activewear cannot be resold. Many items that cannot be resold as new or even pre-Loved will end up in donation boxes or landfills.

If you haven’t received a refund within 7 days of receipt and processing, check your bank account. It may take some time before your refund is officially posted. If after 10 days you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Shipping Issues, Lost Packages, Damages with Carrier
If your item arrives damaged from the shipping process, please contact us: email@example.com
We will need pictures of the damaged product and the box or packaging. Please keep the package and product as the carrier will need to inspect them.
We cannot be responsible for lost or stolen packages from the mail. Please check your tracking number and confirm receipt of the items. DHL works with USPS and hands packages off frequently and many tracking numbers will require an additional 24 hours to be confirmed in the system. Only regular-priced items may be refunded, unfortunately, sale items cannot be returned or refunded.
